Position: National Operations Manager (Myanmar Nationals Only)
Length: 12 months full time (3 month part-time probation period)
Location: Yangon

Harmoneat is a social business based on Yangon. Harmoneat will offer cooking classes for visitors to Yangon, and also sells food directly to the public through a food truck. Harmoneat aims to celebrate diversity and support community building by serving food from across the country. In addition, Harmoneat will work with other NGOs, local youth networks, entrepreneurs and businesses to promote tolerance and diversity by running educational events.. To find out more visit

Your role
The Operations Manager is a crucial position. You will be the direct link between the Directors and the rest of the team and you are responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of Harmoneat, and the growth of the business. As the Operations Manager, you will:

  • Assist in establishing Harmoneat operations
  • Assist in hiring and managing the Harmoneat team
  • Ensure that Harmoneat complies with local registration and licencing requirements
  • Bringing in external assistance, as required
  • Manage Harmoneat budgets, cash and contracts as required
  • Design and implement key systems to ensure the smooth running of Harmoneat operations
  • Manage rosters and schedules, including bookings for cooking courses through the website
  • Undertake strategic planning to ensure growth of the business
  • Ensure timely maintenance of the Harmoneat property and truck
  • Assist in the ordering and sourcing of equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with local marketing and communications including translation of documents
  • Assist in managing events as needed.

  • –  Passionate about Myanmar’s diverse food and culture
  • –  Experienced in managing systems, including budgets, for a small-medium sized business or not-for-profit – relevant university degree desirable
  • –  Experienced in managing staff
  • –  Proven knowledge of business practice and legal requirements for business operations in Myanmar
  • –  Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Myanmar
  • –  Have excellent planning skills and an ability to work autonomously
  • –  Able to prioritise a range of competing tasks.
